Two hundred, twenty-nine years ago a group of men came together at a particular time and in a particular place; men who would change the course of human history. They would establish a nation, the likes of which had never before been known on the earth, or imagined in the minds of men. It would be a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It would preserve and promote freedom and liberty through a system of equal justice under law which would provide every person equal treatment. Furthermore, it would place the ultimate power, not in the government, but in the hands of the people. We call these men our founding fathers and the nation they founded the United States of America. They have been described as "enlightened geniuses touched by divine intervention." I cannot imagine a better description, and I am convinced that only God could have brought together such men, at such a time, in such a place, and with such a purpose. The purpose was God's, and the men were His instruments for accomplishing it. Yes, the world calls it the United States of America, but by the grace of God, we call it home.

RESTORING SANTITY TO AMERICA Americans born in 1940 will be turning sixty-seven this year. I happen to be one of those Americans. I believe that I can safely say that we have lived in the best of times. We were born after the Great Depression and were too young to have been seriously affected by World War II, although our parents bled and sacrificed both themselves and their loved ones to defend the ideal that was America. We have been fortunate to grow up in an America that was very different from what we read about and see on the TV today. Going to church was just something most people did on Sunday and the existence of God was never really questioned or debated. Prayers went up and blessings came down. TV was a family medium and parents never had to worry about what their children were watching. Dad went to work and mom took care of the kids. Discipline was sure and certain and the result was a nation of hard working, law abiding men and women whose only agenda was to build a better life for themselves and their children. Schools were a place of learning, not a place of social structuring and political correctness. Most schools began the day with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord’s Prayer. Teachers, like parents, were respected and obeyed. A paddling at school usually meant a second one when you got home. Sex education was left to the home and the parents. If taught at all, evolution was presented as a theory which most rejected in the light of the clear evidence of an ordered universe which showed evidence of planning and design. Reading, writing and arithmetic were the core subjects and graduating seniors had mastered the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace. Yes, there were definitely problems that needing correcting; the biggest of which was racial segregation. But it is important to remember that slavery and segregation, with all of its ills, was not invented or began in America. It was in America that an end was put to it. It is a small minority of agitators that are still trying to use the past wrongs to create problems for our nation today. America and Americans have for the most part moved past those days and are working together in continuing to build a nation of true equality. For one hundred years now new immigrants from all over the world have streamed to our shores seeking freedom and opportunity for themselves and their families. For the most part they have simply desired to become “Americans” and have assimilated themselves into the mainstream of American Society. The vast majority of Americans are continuing to recognize the traditions and heritage that is America. They continue to be God-fearing, law abiding citizens still trying to become a part of the American Dream and build a better life. Unfortunately, as the years since 1957 have passed various groups with a social or political agenda have come to the forefront and, though a small minority, have been successful in pushing their particular agendas down the collective throat of America. Abortion, gay rights, animal rights, social restructuring, the elimination of God in the public square, open borders and various other fringe agendas now tend to dominate the headlines. The time has come to put an end to this madness and to restore sanity to our nation. These fringe organizations have a right to exist but they have no right to cram their particular agenda down the throat of our nation. Enough is enough, and more and more individuals and organizations are rising to oppose the madness that is engulfing our once great nation. In the coming days and weeks National Morality. Com will be publishing information concerning regaining control of our nation agenda and setting America back on the path to greatness from which we have veered. As in the days of old, Ye Ol’ town crier will be bringing sanity and honest consideration to the subjects that are of true importance while exposing the agenda of those who would seek to destroy the moral fabric of our society.

A TIME FOR CHOOSING This was the title of a speech by the immortal Ronald Reagan who may well have been one of the best presidents our country has ever known. Ronald Reagan is gone and there will be no “new Ronald Reagan.” That said, his vision lives on in the hearts and minds of all true patriots who have a sincere love of the nation which we call home. Unfortunately, our nation is now being threatened as never before. While we face many threats, the main threat is not from external forces but from the very people who hold high office and claim to support our Constitution. The truth is that they are doing all they can to erode the vision of the founding fathers and convert the “dream that became America” into a hodgepodge of liberal ideas and secular agenda. The have sought to remove the God who has protected and blessed us for over 225 years from our Government, our schools and indeed the very conscious of America. Their champion in this cause is a woman named Hillary Clinton and if unstopped she will become our next President and oversee the final destruction of the America Dream. With the eager support of men like Howard Dean, Harry Reed and Teddy Kennedy she will drive through her agenda for the total transformation of America into a secular nation with no place for the voices of righteousness, descent, or moral people. It is imperative that she and her ilk be stopped while we still have a chance to preserve America as the “land of the free and the home of the brave.” My fervent prayer is that God will raise up moral men and women who will change the disastrous direction in which our nation is being directed. Among the men now opposing Hillary and her cronies I believe that the best man to carry forward the banner of America is Fred Thompson. To this end National Morality.
